Water, Water Everywhere...

I've always known that drinking water is important for my health, but lately I've been noticing even more how badly I feel physically when I DON'T drink enough water. As a runner I try to make an even more concerted effort to continually hydrate myself, but I get distracted by handling my herd of kids and day to day activities, so in turn I wind up putting my health last and forget to drink. What I'm realizing is that by neglecting to rehydrate is that I'm more irritable, have more headaches, and less energy.... So I'm actually less productive, and feel awful to boot. I'm also guilty of treating dehydration symptoms with meds like ibuprofen and caffeine rather than drinking more water, which in turn actually dehydrates me even more! Vicious cycle. So today, I'm committing to drinking more than enough water, and at  the end of the day I will report how I feel and what I've noticed physically and mentally by guzzling enough. Do you know of any good ways to keep up with how much water you drink during the day? What do you notice physically when you fail to drink???

Health Messes

As most of you know, I have dealt with a Bipolar Type 2 diagnosis since 2008. Wow, that's 5 years! And it's been a hideous mess of ups and downs, one nervous breakdown, and constantly adjusting medicines that have side effects, and the roller coaster of feeling mentally foggy and alert. I also feel like an inadequate mom to my herd of four kids most of the time because I have zero energy (especially in a down cycle) and am irritable and can't focus. I used to feel so sharp mentally, like I could handle anything that came my way, and now there are days I feel like I'm holding on by a thread.
After being frustrated, I began to research my tail off.... And everywhere I look, I keep encountering the suggestion that a chronic yeast (candida) infection throughout the body can mimic Bipolar symptoms, or aggravate depression, among other mental illnesses, if they truly are present. Here is an article discussing the connection : https://www.youtube.com/redirect?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.freeconferencecallhd.com%2Fplayback.html%3Fn%3D-17-65-67122213730126-17-65-67-17-65-6712774-17-65-67120-17-65-67%253B0NzE1NDAwOTc%253D0&session_token=GSCDzH2K19NhVWuS3TKAgnJuzJx8MTM2NzAxNTQ0OUAxMzY3MDAxMDQ5 Finding out that I might be able to be freed from the prison of pharmaceuticals that I now take daily, has been liberating. I have been investigating ways to eliminate the yeast from my body, and so far, have started the following things:
1) A cup of organic plain yogurt (for probiotic purposes)
2) A diet eliminating high sugar contents and anything that has been fermented (yes, even cheese) to rid my system of yeast and to quit feeding the already present yeast.
3)Adding Raw Manuka Honey to theplain yogurt   as well as cinnamon, which has antibacterial and anti fungal properties. Raw Manuka honey is taken from hives on the Tea Olive trees in New Zealand. I will do an entire post on this later on... It's amazing stuff. https://www.magnesoothe.com/the-power-of-activated-manuka/
4) Working to alkalize my body. Bacteria and fungi hate alkalinity. Using It It Works Greens and Alkaline Water.

I will research and experiment until I find a natural path to ridding myself of these problems.

That's my plan!!

A Year to a New Me!

This weekend trip to St. Louis has been incredible for so many reasons... I got to meet and spend time with so many great people that are members of the It Works Family... I gained knowledge on how to help my business grow and help my team succeed... But I feel like the most important information I gained was on improving my own health and well being. I had the privilege of hearing Dr. Don VerHulst discuss natural options on preventing illness and maintaining a harmonious state in our "earth suits" that God has placed us in. I've always tried to stay in good physical shape and make healthy choices, but I'm learning that even with the best intentions that I've been taking the wrong approach in several cases in improving my health. What's amazing is that not only did Dr. Don teach me the "10 Keys to Health"... But that my company, It Works, has so many tools and supplements to help me reach that goal. I cannot wait to share all of the things he taught us and how I'm implementing them with all of you, and to discuss the chronic health issues I'm desperately seeking to eliminate. What health issues would you like to kick to the curb?!
